Julia Stephens, MD, is a board eligible psychiatrist who completed additional time treating adolescents during residency due to her interest in catching and treating mental health struggles early. She is working in the outpatient setting in order to increase access to psychiatric services across the lifespan for those living in Western North Carolina. She earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia, followed by training for two years in the academic setting at UNC Hospitals and two years in the community setting at MAHEC. She also holds a Master's degree in Business Administration through the University of Georgia and has always imagined having her own practice that would allow her to make necessary changes quickly in order to improve the patient experience.
